Bachelorette Weekend, Part 3

It was Saturday night, the official "bachelorette night out" of the weekend. After a busy yet blissful day in our bikinis, we went back to the hotel to "rehydrate" and get ready for the night.

After primping, the Bachelorette Queen and us subjects were good to go.

It was off to the Buddha Sky Bar & Lounge on Atlantic Ave, kicking off the night with some drinks and sushi. I had heard rave reviews of this restaurant from many different people and thought it'd be a perfect start to our evening.

We were NOT disappointed. Their cocktails were phenomenal - can you say strawberry cupcake champagne, anyone? Their appetizers, so so tasty (I recommend the rock shrimp!), and the sushi - some of the best I've ever eaten. I think we may have sampled just about every roll on the menu.
My favorite... the El Guapo: spicy tuna, avocado, blue crab, parmesan cheese baked on top. Muy muy guapo!

We ended the night there with a congratulatory mochi ice cream dessert - complete with fireworks.

Tummies filled, we decided to walk some of it off by strolling Atlantic Ave. and popping into the bars that caught our eyes along the way.

Tequilaaaaa.

We then danced the night away at one of the clubs on Atlantic, in celebration of Cait's last "horrah!"

Oh, and we made friends with security.

The night turned into morning and we made our way back home to bed.
An amazing night, with amazing friends. Definitely one to remember.

Sunday morning... not so wonderful.

Sorry ladies - these were just to gorgeous to not post ;)

After a headaching lazy Sunday brunch, it was back to the airport and homeward bound.

Congrats again Cait!

Bachelorette Weekend, Part 2

Okay, okay, so our "early" Saturday morning may have turned into a not so early one. But hey, who is ever opposed to a little extra sleep and brunch? Especially if it's a French bakery's brunch?

In need of some coffee and sustenance to recover from our night of margs and bubbly, we made our way over to The Bakery of France. A cute little sit-down bakery with a full menu of authentic French food and desserts, they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Us New Englanders, wanting to catch as many rays as possible in the Florida sun, chose the large table outside on the terrace.

We were seated and given menus to drool look over. Within seconds, we all agreed that first things first - the Nutella coffee was a must.

Iced or hot, this drink was coffee decandence.

Crepes, waffles, omelettes, eclairs, and macaroons - it seemed like we ordered the entire place. Each bite equally delicious and naughty.

Having had our fill, we made our way to the hotel to get ready to hit the beach.
We were staying at the Seagate Hotel & Spa in Delray. A beautiful hotel, right on Atlantic Avenue, and just a short walk from the hotel's private beach.

Unfortunately these are the only pictures I have of our rooms, but they were pretty spacious and both rooms had nice size balconies with a great view of downtown.

All the sugar from brunch was getting to us...

A great feature about the hotel is that not only do they have a private pool and beach area, but they also have a cute little trolley to take you there (and anywhere else you might want to go in town for that matter).

"To the beach!"

We lounged, we swam, we tanned, we had a Greek god guy bringing us drinks left and right. We were in paradise.

Part 3 to follow soon!

Bachelorette Weeked, Part 1

It was time for Cait's Bachelorette weekend and the Florida sunshine was out. We decided to hit up Delray Beach, Florida for a little R&R, beach time, and nightlife. With everyone's flights arriving by mid-day Friday, we all settled in and hung by the pool until it was time to get ready for dinner.

Samantha had shirts made for all of us to wear that night in honor of Cait's "Last Fling Before the Ring," so we all donned our T-shirts and chosen bottoms and made our way over to Rocco's Tacos in Boca Raton for some unbelievable margaritas, guacamole, and tacos.

I highly recommend this restaurant if your a Mexican-food-fan and ever find yourself in the area. Seriously. Yum.
I've been a couple of times now and have gotten something different off the menu every time and have never been disappointed.

Having eaten our weight in guacamole and consuming one too many margaritas, we decided to have a "quiet" night in with some champagne, chocolate, and gossip.

We planned on having an early start to our busy Saturday after all.

The Little Ones

So I not only have a big sister--but I have two little ones as well. And a little brother. But this post is about the two little sisters - Alexa and Summer. For the past few months I was living at my Dad's in Florida which meant that I got to see and play with these two cuties every day.

With my moving back home to Boston and my Dad and the girls going to the south of France for the summer, I know I won't be able to see them any time soon or as often as I'd like.

As much as I miss them, I am so glad I did get to spend those few months with them - making memories and being a part of their everyday lives.

I think being around them made me look at the world a little differently too. The smallest, simplest things to me, were some of the biggest and most exciting for them; which made me look twice at things and reconsider my initial thoughts and reactions.

And if those moments didn't make me look or think twice, they at least had me smiling.

Darling, You're Invited

So as promised, I now invite you to Breakfast at Tiffany's ... aka Cait's Boston Bridal Shower Brunch.

Little black dresses. Tiffany blue. Pearls. Audrey. And of course, Diamonds. How could you go wrong? Planning this shower and all the bows and baubles that went along with it was so fun.
This day, unlike the Barbie shower, was a surprise for Cait....Although I think she may have figured it out. Held at one of the local country clubs, I think she was on to us all when we asked her to come for a "fashion show." She was a good sport and of course went along with it. Instead of models and couture however, she came to find that it was family and friends in LBDs, sipping on mimosas, showering her in presents and love.

We talked, we brunched, we opened presents, and played games.
Can you guess how many pearls are in the glass?

Cait's friends, family and future family members all made a showing. In proper Audrey fashion of course.

Here I am (left) with Cait (crowned and center)  and some of her friends

Cousin Caroline, me, Cait, Samantha, and Julieanne

As I said, we tried to pull out all the stops for this occassion through and through. So what better way to cap off a wonderfully themed afternoon?

Dessert, of course!

Samantha and the Mother-in-law-to-be put together the most beautiful spread of sweets, treats and cakes. All in the spirit of Tiffany's and each one yummier than the next.

They knowingly even supplied candy bags - to take some of those naughty delicious desserts home.

A beautiful affair. A beautiful bride-to-be.

As Audrey would say - "what a gem."

That's all for now darlings.
